Patina Habano

Patina Habano…

With the NBA season kicking off today, I’m excited to smoke something new. I walk into the Humi and grab the new Patina Habano. At first look, the golden brown wrapper looks inviting and the smell on the foot has flavors of earth and cocoa. Well here we go, were off and smoking. On the first third, I’m getting subtile hints of citrus, lots of cedar and a faint hint of cayenne pepper. The retrohale offers the same flavors with just a bit more pepper through the nose. The smoke through heading into the middle is slightly fast with some flaky ash. The flavor is consistent throughout while the spice is slowly becoming more prominent and transitioning into more of a black pepper spice. Rolling into the final third, this stick has been pleasant with little surprises. The spices have slowed down, offering us a smooth gust of cedar and citrus and in my opinion the best part of this stick. The Patina Habano smokes as a solid medium throughout. The overall construction is consistent, giving a nice burn with little touchup. The Patina Habano is definitely worth a try, offering a different spin to the widely used Ecuadorian Habano wrapper while keeping your interest throughout. I’d slide this into the mid morning slot or finish off the night with this one. All said and done, you won’t be disappointed with the Patina so grab some today….
