Diesel Grind, Why Work When You Can Grind
It’s like a blast from the past. It has been years since I’ve had a Diesel. The Diesel was pretty much an online only cigar. The Grind is like a reintroduction of this cigar, but only for brick and mortar stores. So today, I get to see if we should start lining up at the door to get on the Grind. At first look, the Habano wrapper is a moderately oily dark brown, visible veins with a nice simple blue band on the foot. The cold draw is a bit of plum, molasses and light spice. First few puffs off the foot, I’m getting earthy, woody and surprisingly light pepper but I’m sure it’s coming. Further into the first third, the pepper is starting build and is combined with wood and tobacco flavors. The retrohale on the Diesel is powerful and peppery through the nose. The middle portion continues the flavor profile while slowly adding some strength. In the final portion of the Grind, the flavor profile stands pat adding a hint of nuttiness to the background. The Diesel Grind smokes at a solid full body, the burn was pretty consistent with some flaky ash but no touch ups. This cigar is not one for the slouches, you better eat your Wheaties before grabbing one of these bad boys. Overall, the Diesel Grind is a good stick for those who need that boost of nicotine without all the bells and whistles. If you are looking for tobacco, spice and power at a low price point, the Diesel Grind is a good choice at well under $10 per stick. You want an energy boost to your everyday grind? Head out and grab the Diesel Grind and live life in the fast lane.
